Nail Polish Deals, Coupons for polish, Nail Polish replenishment!

My polish stash dwindled!

Too many colors dried up, got sticky or got used up by my daughters.

I found the time to scan through the remaining and tossed all the bad ones. After seeing all the room that was left in the polish box I knew I had to start replenishing soon. Some of my favorite affordable brands include Wet n Wild, LA Colors gel, and Ulta brand.

Ulta almost always has their polishes on sale and if you have an Ulta coupon, usually found in the Ulta circulars, you can get an even better discount.

My local supermarket is a great place for deals with store only coupons....Milani Color Statement Lacquers were on clearance for $1.99 and there was a coupon for $1 off making these polishes only $1 each!

I was pretty quick on nabbing a few colors but most of the prettier colors were already gone.

Another great deal that is still going around today if you look in a lot of places that may still have these bottles laying around are the Revlon Parfumerie or scented polishes with matching names. They were on clearance for around $2.63 per bottle or even cheaper at regular drugstores and local supermarkets like the mentioned above.... So just recently the store had a $2 off coupon for any color product, making these cute little polishes .63 cents or cheaper. Too bad I didn't get more colors as they were mostly gone or were colors that I didn't like.

LA Colors Color Craze Gel - Pretty decent polishes with lots of colors to choose from are only $2 a pop. I haven't been back to pick up more but I plan to.

Payless Shoes recently purged a majority of their 'B' polishes....And I think Orly has discontinued this color, which is probably why it was on clearance in my local supermarket.

L'Oreal Nail Color - Perfect for Summertime

Time to break out the cute and bright colored nail polishes this summer! I am quilty of putting bright colors away to save until it is 3 digit temps outside but for the past 2 yrs or so I've just been wearing what-evs. Well, getting around to actually doing my nails is a big accomplishment for me, with 2 boys and 2 babies running around in my house! These beaute's are from L'Oreal of the Colour Riche line and I got to tell ya, the formula is amazing and the color selection is pretty nifty.

I have 3 bright colors and a golden color, I love golden colors, or bronzey types with lots of shimmer

Left to Right:
Orange you Jealous
Royalty Reinvented
Not a Cloud in the Sky
Because you're Worth it

All colors are crèmes with the exception of Because you're Worth it which has a beautiful frost and shimmer. Orange you Jealous I would describe as a beautiful melon color with mostly hints of pink, it is not overly orange nor neon, it has the perfect amount of melon and pink. Royalty Reinvented is the perfect medium lavender, it's definitely not too pastel nor too grape. Not a Cloud in the Sky is a pretty light turquoise somewhat similar to China Glaze's For Audrey but is more on the greenish side. Because you're Worth it is a nice smooth gold with shimmer and a bit of frost. It is not chunky or rough.

The color selection is absolutely the best, one of the best I've ever seen drugstore wise. I have yet to find a drugstore that offers very little colors, you can mostly find regular colors and the newest colors or limited colors out on the 'new arrivals' shelves.

You get 0.39 fl. oz. and depending where you buy you can spend in between $4 to $7 per bottle.

All the reasons why I love them:

Non-streaky
Long-lasting
Great color selection
Great formula
Color saturated
Affordable

Swatches left to right:

Not a Cloud in the Sky, Royalty Reinvented, Orange you Jealous, Because you're Worth it

Which colors do you have?

Bargain Alert: Sally Hansen Complete Salon manicure for 0.62 cents!

Happy Sunday dear readers! Here's another bargain for those with a nearby H-E-B store!

I just paid .62 cents plus tax for the color Without a Stitch at my nearby H-E-B store. Here is how to get the deal:

Fortunately those limited edition colors like from the picture above are scanning on clearance for $1.62, I think H-E-B stores are trying to get rid of these stray items, but there isn't a price tag on them....H-E-B currently has a Big Savings coupon (yellow coupon) for $1 off any Sally Hansen nail and tools (expires on 9-20-11), so you end up paying .62 cents plus tax!

Just wanted to share with you all, I know my postings have been sporatic lately, I apologize, as I am extremely busy! :)

Have a blessed Sunday!

Turning ugly polish colors into pretty ones!

I've been wanting to share this with the rest of the world for the longest time just in case anyone else was in a similar situation...And when I say situation, I'm saying the situation where you think you own the world's ugliest nail polish!

I think I own one of the world's ugliest, haha....no offense Essie but 'Big Bag Theory' is atrocious (as well as it's name!).

I have no idea what prompted me to buy such an ugly color. Nevertheless I clearly was not thinking or may have just liked it at the time! But I think it's safe to say that even the most ugliest nail lacquers can be saved with a quick fix. I've only had to do this the once and hopefully it will be my last, but just in case you wanted to get an idea of how to turn those ugly colors in gorgeous ones, read on!

So, Big Bag Theory is a yellow-toned reddish rust color with a touch of brown, unfortunately that seems to bring out the very worst of my skintone and color. In the pictures it looks like a red but don't let the pictures fool you! ...please excuse my dry skin and cuticles :)

Decide on a color scheme:

I decided to make it into a light pink. Because nail polish is super pigmented, especially this color, I started emptying about 3/4 of the nail polish (all that was left was about 1/4 of the bottle).

Add in your first color:

I added in Sally Hansen's Lavender Cloud....I added to match up the color in my new bottle so now the bottle was half full. The first additions are always just to test it out. I shook the bottle to see the result. It wasn't quite what I wanted so I added more of a different color.

Remember to shake bottle very well:

I wanted more of a muted pink so I wanted to add in some beige to see what it would do, I used Sally Hansen's Iced Coffee. I added in about 1/4, after shaking and mixing the bottle was 3/4 full.

Keep adding in colors to see what results, stop when you have achieved the color you want!
Last but not least I wanted to lighten it up so I added in some plain white. I used Sally Hansen's White On, and added in the remainder to complete a full bottle.

Lots of shaking and mixing!

(Leave a comment to name my new creation! Give me your ideas!)

It came out just as I wanted, I was trying to make a muted-light pink. I tried to stay clear of making colors that looked too similar to what I already own. Overall the other pinks I have are way different than this frankened one today. I am glad for that! So, see you later Big Bag Theory, you will NOT be missed :)

Have you ever frankened your own nail polish color? Let me know!
I need a new name for my new frankened polish, please comment in this post and give me your ideas!

Sally Hansen Nail Art nail polish pens

Where to buy: CVS, Target, Walgreens, Walmart
Price: Varies...I purchased these for $7.99 each and haven't really seen them any less anywhere else

I initially bought these to use on some fake nails to design something cute for halloween, then I was just going to keep them for future use...

My first thought:
The red was a frosty, rusty, disgusting color and the black was just horrible....Runny, watery, pale, and wouldn't stick to any surface!

A color that is good: The pure White one is really nice....the color itself is highly pigmented and stays put

So, exhibit A. Red on top, black on bottom

Notice how the black puddles in the middle and leaves the outer all grey and stupid? Also, I tested out a line on the bottom....overall it's a watery shame :(

The Red: I was not expecting it to be this frosty red-rust color, I was actually
hoping for something like a pure red creme color...

Loved the white color, but decided to return these kids back to CVS because I feel as overpriced that these are, Sally Hansen won't get my approval unless all of the pens are of good quality!

What is your favorite Nail Art pen/polish?

A Great Time Shopping

What is it with me and my hauls? I won't pretend that I hardly noticed the long absence I take blame for (sorry!) but for your enjoyment here is one of my latest hauls!

So I heard a few good things about the new lipglosses by NYC, comparable to Urban Decay Ultraglide glosses. At first I bought Plaza Punch (a favorite of mine) and went and bought 2 more (big mistake). While Plaza Punch has alot more 'color' the other 2 I have aren't as pigmented...instead give off sheer color but nice shine.
Mulberry St. Mocha
Plaza Punch (favorite!)
Big Apple Red
and a new lipgloss I really like is Lippin' Large in Pink Champagne

Found some Loreal on-the-loose shadows! Only 1 color at Dollar Tree...but I grabbed it, anyway I don't have this color!
Airy Azure - A light shimmering turquoise (sort of reminds me of the Tiffany color)

Another new favorite is the Plexi Gloss by Hard Candy, found at Walmart stores
Mauve - Alous

"Hi, I'm Erica and I'm addicted to Revlon Super Lustrous lipsticks."

('Sandalwood Beige and Mauvy Night')

...and it doesn't quite help when there are sales all around me, for example, my local grocery store has them for $2 right now!!!!!!!!!!
Yikes, I better make more room in my lipstick box :D

'Toast of New York'

'Kiss me Coral' and 'Ginger Rose'

'Peach Me'

'Berry Haute'

The collection by MAC called Venomous Villians was a big hit and I only took home 1 item, which was a lipstick, you know me!
'Innocence Beware! is not too light and not at all bright, but instead gives a soft bare pink color on the lips, since it is a creamsheen the lipstick has lots of shine...

MAC-Innocence Beware!, Revlon-Peach me, Ginger Rose, Sandalwood Beige, Berry Haute, Kiss me Coral, Toast of New York, and Mauvy Night...

It came finally! I've been dying to play around with the colors and actually use it for work, can't wait! I'm the proud owner of a...
Urban Decay 'Naked' Palette

comes with a tiny little eyeshadow primer called UDPP

(colors: Virgin, Sin, Naked...)

12 shadows in all, for $44 dollars and it also comes with Zero and Whisky - the 24/7 glide on liners by Urban Decay....
....Sidecar, Buck, Half Baked....

...Smog, Darkhorse, Toasted....

...Hustle, Creep, Gunmetal.

For halloween I decided to design something cute on each finger but I didn't have a good orange polish so I picked up this color at Sallys

Japanese Koi

All the other polishes came from all over...
Touch of Mink

Van D'go (a very nice color)

Galaxy Girl (still not sure about this color, it may go back)

Meet for Drinks (the pic doesn't do this polish much justice, this is a really nice purple burgundy color with tiny sparkles)

Moonstruck (not sure if I included this color in my last haul, lol)

Stellare Notte (same for this one! haha)

Arcadia Aqua (this is some strange brand I found, but the color is really nice!)

Last but not least, my newest addition is a nail polish by NARS called Pokerface...

So, here are the halloween nails I mentioned earlier but I'm missing one?

One thing that I love collecting (other than makeup!) are movies. I try to at least find my all-time favorites or classics....pretty much anything made in the 80's make the top of my list...Here are some I've bought recently...

(super old-school 80's!)

Honestly, this is the original Avatar...

Love it!

One of my favorites

Some more pens to add to my little collection...

A gift for myself
Something very important is going on with me at the moment and to reward myself for my hard work I decided to buy this cute Coach wristlet in purple...I will let you all know how I am doing with my change, if you don't know already! haha

Good Night my friends,

Erica, LaliAmora
