Forgive me for I am late...

In just a few minutes I will be working on my incoming 88 Palette Monday EOTD in hopes that I will not revive my forgetfulness from this past 2 weeks!I'm late but all for a good reason - my baby is growing super fast and while I catch up with her, feeding her sweet potatoes and squash, I've been working on her language skills, and my son got ill just this past week, yep super busy...

Anywho, I'm glad to be back and in the saddle again :) Here is what I've been working on, hope you all like it..........

EOTD #1 88 Palette Monday: 'Sugarplums'

Believe it or not but the purple that is on the crease and contour is actually a blue color that has changed since layered over the coral color, I used the purple upper eyeliner from the Punk Funk ELF quad....

1 all over the eyelid and blended upward towards the highlight area
2 only on crease and contour area blended
3 on lower lashline only.
Stilleto Volume mascara and MAC Vanilla as highlight

EOTD #2 88 Palette Monday: 'Earthday'

This EOTD was quite easy, I got some colors that I'd never really played with before....

1 all over the lid and past the crease, used 2 to blend out edges of 1 and blended upward toward highlight area, used 3 only on lid blended upward.
1 on lower lashline
Stiletto volume mascara and Stiletto eyeliner
MAC Vanilla as highlight

88 Palette Monday: Salsa Heat

(with flash)
Today's eye was inspired by the golden bronze and hot pink in the shimmering and matte palettes. I am quite bummed that I couldn't retrieve a great snapshot of the vibrancy of the look, giving no justice to the bright colors. Bummer. However, the look in person is bright and gorgeous!
(natual light, no flash)

From the 88 shimmer palette (above) I used 1. All over the lid and on the inner lower lashline

Then used the matte palette:
2. is on the outer 'v' and crease blended upward. 2. is also on the outer lower lashline and blended with 1.
3. on only on the outer 'v' and blended a bit on the crease
I used 4. as highlight
No falsies this time, here I used Lancome mascara.

Blending is key with the 2. since this color can travel everywhere! I made sure to wipe my brush often when using this color....

I hope you have enjoyed this look!

88 Palette Monday: 'Let's Party!'

I decided to create something a little bit more exciting for those nights out dancing! I love this look for 1. because it includes alot of my favorite eyeshadow colors (blue, teal, green) and secondly because it is shimmery and dramatic!

This is the look I came up with, I think I have done something like this similiar but I'm not sure....

I started to use MAC Soft Ochre paintpot as a base but quickly realized that the shadow wouldn't stick, bleh!
So I ended up just using an eye cream to prime my eyelid, it worked nicely....

Blend blend blend away, all the colors should run together :)
It is really simple:

1. All over the lid
2. On contour and outer contour area
3. only on crease blended upward to mix up with the 2.

I used 1. on the lower inner lashline, 4. on the middle part of the lower lashline and then 3. on the outer lower lashline, all blended at the seams
In this palette most of the light colors are, how can I say, terrible....so you can use your favorite highlight color....I used MAC Vanilla :)

I used fake lashes from the dollar store, geeze these lashes are long!

88 Palette Monday: Pastel's Cotton Candy

For some reason I just wanted to add in the lashes at the bottom...I have very tiny lashes so the effect would not look correct, but for those that have great lashes at the bottom the idea is to slather on the mascara for that baby doll look :)
anywho, you get the idea, this is an example of how it would look, blend away as usual :)

Prime the skin surrounding the eye with NYX shadow stick 'Milk'
#1 for inner lid
#2 next to it
#3 next to the green (much on the outer contour area)
#4 on the outer v area
#5 on crease blended very well
#6 under the highlight color
#7 highlight color and inner corner

I used #3 on outer bottom lashline, #2 near the middle of lashline, #1 on inner lower lashline

Maybelline line stiletto upper lashline
and drew in lashes on bottom, haha

Loreal Voluminous mascara

88 Palette Monday: 'Holographic'

Welcome to the first creation of my new 88 eyeshadows palette eyes weekly...I'll be creating quick looks using the wonderful 88 eyeshadows palette among other things! I'm super excited about this because a majority of all those gorgeous colors are just sitting around not being used, I felt this was a great way to let them out of their shell! haha

Today's eye is called 'Holographic', thanks to my husband that suggested it, which is not holographic but I see where he was coming from :) I started with a bronzy base eyeshadow, I used mischievous marissa in the Shady Lady palette but any frosty bronze color will do....

now the fun part....

I hope you all can read the markings on the picture!

2. I added the light green color from the palette along my inner contour area.

3. I added the purple mauve color right next to it.

4. I then added the bright blue on the outer area of my lid right next to purple mauve.

5. next I added lightest blue, a color right below the highlight color.

6. I then added the highlight color.

7. afterwards I used a MAC brush 217 and blended in the Dark blue on my outer v and crease for depth.

8. the dark blue was used on my outer lower lashline then medium green for the rest.

9. Temping Tara from the Shady lady palette is what is on my inner corner.

And of course lots of blending!

Used ELF Dramatic false eyelashes for a finishing touch

LA Colors Eyeshadows

Using only my LA Colors eyeshadow palettes from Dollar Tree I decided to create something a little dramatic. This was an interesting experience in that I was not sure how well the shadows would work....Let me explain, I have used only 1 or 2 colors by themselves in the past but since I was incorporating a few colors for this look, I had a few doubts (like pigmentation, blending)....

My feelings were wrong, these shadows are really nice....together! I guess with a little imagination and patience (some shadows are hard to work with!) you can create something nice....

To start off, I contoured the eyes with a satiny soft light brown color found on the LA Colors 'Traditional' palette. I then covered the entire lid with a soft purple shade from the 'Chic' palette. I'm not sure why I chose this color, at the time I thought it would stand out but as you can see from the picture the color soon faded. For the crease and outer 'V' I applied a shimmery chocolate color from the 'Darling' palette....

For more depth and to increase the 'smoky' of the look, LA Colors mineral e/s in black was added to the outer 'V' and crease blending just slightly in.

For highlight, I just used the lightest white pearl color from the Traditional palette, but honestly any light color from any of the palettes will suffice as a highlight color.

For a pop of color I added a magenta maroonish color from 'Fabulous' on the lower lashline

Eyes:
UDPP
On the Lid - 2
Contour area - 1
Crease- 3 and LA Colors minerals eyeshadow 'Black'
Highlight - the 'White pearl' color from the Traditional palette
lower lashline - 4 and Sephora Eyebrow #2 pencil
Maybelline line stiletto
Loreal Voluminous mascara

Face:
Revlon Colorstay Golden Caramel
Prescriptives Camo concealer
LA Colors blush Spice

Lips:
Santee lipliner Flush Red
Nicka K lipstick 'Wicked'

My favorite product out of any of the LA Colors line from Dollar Tree happens to be the nail polishes and lipsticks... And if I could pick one more favorite it would be the 'Traditional' e/s palette. What are your favorite Dollar Tree makeup products?

Have a great weekend everyone!

Purple Wildflowers Makeup

To commemorate the Los Angeles Lakers and their final stretch of the NBA Finals, I've decided to create a ridiculous eye look especially for the team and their victor. Of course the bright golden yellow and deep royal purple are not for everyday, perhaps there could be a way to tone it down a bit, but simply for the occasions I've decided to spunk it up. This look would be perfect for the actual game, a watch party or just to show team spirit on game day. If you are a Celtic fan, please click here for a green and white FOTD! I just love NBA Finals so I may be wearing the looks on the next game day...but which one am I going for? Celtics or Lakers...Hmmmmm :)
Anywho, on to the look:

Tidbits, Hauls, FOTD :)

Chili Bowl
San Antonio
Kennedy
Vs
Memorial
football game 2009

To show my team spirit I ended up going all out with my makeup. I could have worn green lipstick but didn't know if that would look right :/ I also wanted to put falsh lashes and paint green glitter on the tips but I ran out of time and couldn't do it :D

It was a nice night, the weather was perfect and we had a great turnout. The concession stands were running out of food, lol. Better yet, Kennedy kicked the socks off of Memorial with a final of 42 to 6 which was evident in the game, Memorial players were tripping over their own feet, running was lagging, and catching seemed like a sin, lol....after the game the kids went out to the field to say hi to all the players and the coaches...

Anyways, here is what I used:)

-Face-
Grisi face lotion
MAC studio fix fluid nc40
Prescriptives concealer
MAC peachtwist blush (very lightly)

-Eyes-
Urban Decay Primer Potion
Sally Girl eyeshadow Snow
vivid green from Coastal Scents 88 palette
Urban Decay Graffiti e/s
dark forest green from Coastal Scents 88 palette
ULTA Galaxy e/s
Clinique high impact mascara
Zero Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliner
MAC eye pencil Minted
-Lips-
MAC lipstick Gilty Kiss

Not in the Galley

Veteran's Day 2009 - Yesterday I had a very nice Post-Marine Corps birthday day. haha. I ended up getting a free drink where I work and me and the family went to Applebee's to get our free meals! The wait was an hour and a half but it was worth it because our meal was hot and our waitress was in a festive and great mood. We made new friends waiting to be seated as well. Overall the night was great!
And now for my long overdue haul :)
I've been needing to get a backup of my all-time favorite holy grail lipgloss in Endulging by Milani, so I went ahead and got Endulging and the hot pink one...
A few weeks ago I picked up a few things at a nice store that one of my readers suggested I visit, Michelle, thank you so much for letting me know about it! NYX lipliners, I love these...and 1 eyeliner in Seafoam Green...
and 2 round lipglosses by NYX - they are just ok I guess. I may have to give these away though-not a fan....And an LA Colors gloss in Beige? I think :/
.
.
.
Has anyone ever tried these glosses before? For $2.49 these are a steal. Well I LUUUUUUUV these! I originally started out wearing the Cappuccino one (which is a creamy nude beige color)...and I never really thought about checking out the other colors they had to offer, but I'm so glad I did...I went ahead and bought 3 more and I love them!Frosted Berry, Mocha Mousse and Strawberry Parfait...They each smell like the description of the name so that is very lovely :)they are much cheaper at Wal-mart, if you go to Walgreens they try to rip you off by charging 4 to 5 dollars for each, so check them out if you are interested! :)
.
.
.
So, I've sort of been on a no makeup buying project since early September, roughly. But once in a while I do treat myself to something that I must have or something that I need, and for a special occasion like yesterday, I did do a little hauling....
My Veterans Day treat to myself

Loreal eyeshadow in Taffeta, Sinful Colors Nail Lacquer in Gold, and Loreal Bare Naturale mascara

This color is very unique, I don't have anything exactly like this color....I have a few shadows sort of close to it but not exactly. I would describe it as a rosy bronze that is light and frosted but not too frosted, I love it
.
In the beginning of the month I went over to the outlets in search of a certain Betsey Johnson handbag but didn't find it :(
Anyways, In order for the trip to not be such a 'waste',heehee, I stopped by my favorite makeup store, yep, the CCO. I did find a few things that I adore!

Refined MSF, Gold Stroke pigment, Night Violet lipstick and Fresh Cut e/s palette
This pigment is so unique, I don't have an eyeshadow or other pigment even close to the color, I've worn it a couple of times and love itFresh Cut e/s palette which was a Nordstrom edition palette that has alot of pretty colorsThe detail on the palette is nice/cute :)I am in love with this MSF, I quickly remembered why I didn't take advantage of these when they were out in stores....I remembered thinking that all MSF's looked the same regardless. I own So Ceylon which is a very pretty rose bronzy color, Refined is a nice peachy rose color.
Red she said
Well I finally got the MAC lipstick in Russian Red,

Yes, I've used up quite a bit of it since I got it, I may need a backup :)
I honestly can't understand why I waited soooooo long to get this color, it is amazing! I think the color is perfect for my skintone since it has a orangy gold undertone......Love it!
Another red fave...

the color Red Stiletto by Lancome. I loooooove this color :) It is a creamy red color (no frost or pearl) and it stays on like forever!
Everyone have a great weekend, let me know if you would like to see more hauls or if its boring :P, I would like to know your opinion!

Electric Eel Eyes EOTD

Hi everyone! By now you're probably wondering why I've gone like EOTD crazy over the past weekend...Well my left eye has pink eye! Gah! I'm always super careful being a germaphobe about touching my eyes except when I've just washed my hands and evidently it crept up on me. So, for the past 3 days I've been makeup-free and nothing to do. I hope you all enjoyed your weekend! So, here is a really easy Electric Eel eye that I did, I love the colors, I'm thinking about wearing this as soon as my other eye gets better, Enjoy!

Here's what I used:
UDPP
NYX Milk
MAC Delft PPot
MAC Electric Eel e/s
MAC Lavender Sky e/s
MAC Gesso e/s
MAC Contrast e/s
MAC Vanilla e/s
Optional: Lightly pat on eyeshadow 'Peace' by Urban Decay on top of Electric Eel for a little sheen.
