Baby Update: What we found at my latest prenatal appointment!

It's such a great thing when I can get an ultrasound at prenatal appointments.

The last one I had was during the gender revelation and since there had been so much movement and much more growing since I was dying to see the little gal again.

Not only did I get to see her, I know how much she weighs and in which position she is in - she's in a breech position (which doesn't bother me the slightest since I will be having a planned c-section)...but probably the most interesting fact about her is that she already has alot of hair on her head!

My doctor told me it's very interesting because hair usually doesn't grow that much or that early in pregnancy (I'm 28 weeks)...But so nice to know this about her! Can't wait to see her!.....And let's see if she shifts her position :P

Mondays are nice!

My latest obsession is surprisingly not flowers or gardening (haha, this cute pot o' flowers was my last gardening attempt - picture taken from my back porch last summer!)....No, my latest obsession is the blog Makeup and Beauty Blog. Karen is so funny, I love her articles, hauls, and of course Tabs :) Today I'm answering her Monday Poll just for fun...It's suppose to be meant for her comment section I thought it would be fun to pass along to whomever would like to participate...So here I go!

1. Your favorite pair of pajamas?
That would be my very comfy purple PJ's from Karen Scott, bought them from Macy's about 3 yrs ago, they are worn and they feel so silky from countless washes...I know, Karen Scott?! But they are comfy!!!

2. Do you still de-fuzz your legs in the winter?
Yes I do because I like to wear comfy pants that sometimes slip up to my knee when I sit on my couch and my son has friends over once in a while and it's not cute to be sitting there with legs like bigfoot!

3. When was the last time you cleaned your makeup brushes?
About 2 weeks ago *runs to go clean brushes* :)

4. Have you ever worn eyelash extensions?
No. Because I'm so afraid they will ruin my real lashes. hahaha with my luck.....

5. What are three of your eye makeup staples?
Good good question....I'll have to say black liquid eyeliner, carbon black mascara, and a good concealer :)

6. What’s your stance on long, pointy nails?
They are fun and only look good on some hands, not all.

7. What’s one weird thing your pet does?
I haven't had a pet in 11 years!

8. Are you more of a palette or a singles girl?
Palette - because I'm always in a rush, I can't seem to find anything if I'm using singles, but I always find my palettes!

9. Do you take cream and/or sugar in your tea?
Only sugar and sometimes lemon.

10. To do great things, you must _____.

Have faith, be great, have patience, not be afraid.
:)

My Top 5 Beauty Sins

Saw this Tag on the lovely Christiana's blog so I decided to put together a list. I tag anyone to do the same....Ok here goes! :)

Sin #5. I use to add hair gel to my nearly empty mascara tube.

I don't do this anymore but I use to back in my high school days when I didn't have enough money to go out and buy another. I have no idea what prompted me to add in the hair gel, I thought that it would somehow mimic the mascara formula!

Sin #4. I scratch off my white heads and squeeze out my blackheads.

Only on my nose but nevertheless this is some strange habit of mine that I'm not proud of. If I see them on my nose I am so quick to squeeze them out. I think it all started when I would use those blackhead nose strips which for me is a love/hate relationship, sometimes it gets them all out and sometimes it doesn't!

Sin #3. I don't take off my makeup every night.

I know, I know, 'Never be too busy to be beautiful'....It is a motto that I stand beside and have said many times but seriously I have 2 kids and a toddler at home and I work full-time, Most days I am so exhausted I go into dream mode putting my 1 yr old to sleep with a plan of getting up about 30 mins later to wash my face, paint my nails, etc BUT when I DO wake up it's time for me to get up and start the day all over again! lol

Sin #2. I use to wear face powder that was too light for me.

Those ghastly white casts in the old photos, and the favorite compact puff tucked neatly inside by the mirror. Yep I was one that fell victim to this classic! This was back in the day before we cherished makeup brushes and drugstore makeup companies were ho-hum about selling makeup and powder that matched REAL skintones!

AND my #1 Beauty Sin......I use to share my makeup with my friends all the time.

Ewwww....now that I think about it, what the hell was I thinking? lol :)

I hope everyones Mother's Day was super! Because I am so late with this post I am going to include a small giveaway, so for everyone interested please read on for details!

Just wanted to show you all a very simple and natural FOTD that I wore for Mother's Day. My mother's day was very nice. I went shopping in the morning, picked up a few things for my grandmother and then met her for lunch around noon-time. I had some cute cards waiting for me when I got home made by my boys and my baby daughter. I watched all my favorite DVD's for the rest of the day and took a nap...How was your Mother's Day? What did you do?

Small giveaway it is! Write a small comment in this post about your most favorite memory of your mom. Winner will receive 1 goodies bag with makeup and other beauty items personally chosen by me!

Since I did not grow up to know my 'real' mom I thought I'd share a nice memory of my 'true' mother which is my paternal grandmother. She raised me and has been there for me all along. My grandma, or 'mom' as I used to call her is simply one that is old-fashioned (but in a good way), comforting, classy, and down-to-earth. She loved to make me dresses. She would sew me a dress for special occasions and of course I would pick out the pattern and material. She is great thus why I have so many more memories of her!

Closed - Giveaway! Let me know how you stay Sweet, Cute, Daring, or Chill!

Win a basket of P&G goodies!

Leave your comments in this post, I will randomly choose 1 person as the winner!

I would like to know:

How do you stay Sweet?

How do you look Cute?

How are you Daring?

How do you stay Chill?

I share my own ideas below.....Are we alike? Just let me know!

My idea of staying Sweet: I try to smile each and every time I talk to somebody, and I love to give small gifts or greeting cards as much as possible to my friends or coworkers with a birthday or anniversary!

How I look Cute: Some of you can relate to this, lol....Everytime I go out, I always end up color coordinating my clothes and jewelry...I try to match everything! Simple is not my taste, most of the time, hee hee! Along with a cute outfit I match my earrings, bracelets, necklaces, and rings. Sometimes I'll add in a matching hair clip....Oh! and matching nail polish is a must!

How I do Daring: So maybe rock-climbing or sky-diving isn't something for everyday...haha! Instead I do 'Daring' with my looks - it is something I'm creative with. If I'm going out sometimes I feel like daring to wear bright blue eyeshadow, orange lipstick, or pink glitter eyeliner. I am not a daring person when it comes to clothes because I love being comfortable and stylish at the same time. So my only option is to go all out with either my hair, makeup, or nails :)

How I Chill: I am just myself :)

Below are videos of Talent sharing some of their own ways! Watch them and see how many of us share some of the same ideas and concepts....

Deadline to submit your comment is May 27th 2011!

Good Luck!

Thank you to all that entered, I will be having another giveaway very soon!

We love Hello Kitty....and shopping!

I made the choice to collect Hello Kitty memorabilia for my little one....Last week I started with her 1 year birthday party. Let me just say that I am one very tired momma! One Hello Kitty themed party for my baby, a b-day dinner for my husband and in between all that managed to do a little shopping :)

I hope everyone is enjoying this springtime....I thought I'd share some pics taken from baby's party....

I've always kinda been the crafty one, so I made these candle holders for the party after a friend of mine designed some last Thanksgiving...Loved the way they came out!

Her birthday outfit consisted of a personalized embroidered onesie and matching bloomers. I ended up buying her the tutu after I had seen them on Etsy...It is so cute! We are taking her to the studio this weekend to take her official 1 year old pics and she will be wearing this outfit :)

And of course the cake, which had to be done in Hello Kitty, which was also the theme of the party :)

Homemade cupcakes

Her Hello Kitty Easter Basket!

During my 'skincare' kick (which I am still on!) I did a little makeup shopping....I received a tiny sample of Sephora's Plumping lash mascara and after using it a few days I absolutely loved it so I ended up buying the full-size version. At my most recent trip to the CCO I picked up Clinique's glossy mascara....I love the brush on this mascara! And I also wanted to try out NYC's new line of mascara.........this one is the high-definition/volumizing one.

Another trip to Dollar Tree! And I just wanted to mention that Dollar Tree now has ELF's Studio line single eyeshadows!

They have a variety of about 7 colors to choose from, I know these are regularly $3 each so for only $1 these are a steal, especially if you are one that loves these!
Ok, so back to the haulage. I picked up some of Maybelline's Wet shine and Revitalizing polishes. Loreal Hip lip glosses are available at Dollar Tree too....I picked up Enticing-which is a rich true red. They had some other nice colors but were too close or matched some colors I already own.

Wet n Wild spring collection of polishes came out so I picked up 2 out of the 6 they had. I got Laughing Lilac and Birdbath. The Laughing Lilac is actually a very nice color. I wouldn't call it a dupe for MAC's Love and Friendship or Essie's Lilacism....this color doesn't even come close....It is beautiful and probably one of the most nicest lilac pink colors I have seen. The Birdbath polish doesn't come close at all to China Glaze's For Audrey. Birdbath is a very nice bright sky blue creme.

If you visit me at my home you'd be curious to know why I own every season DVD set of the show Everybody Loves Raymond....Only one reason I collect them is because I really adore the show! So naturally it's expected that I pick up Wet N Wild's newest red polish in the fast dry line called Everybody Loves Redmond. So the name is a bit cheesy but I couldn't help it :) Once in a good while my local grocery store puts out coupons for makeup so I picked up Wet n Wild lipstick in Stoplight Red and my favorite Rimmel lippie in Vintage Pink. I was hesitant to order ELF online but quickly emptied my shopping cart when I noticed Target had the items I was looking for! I picked up the blush Fuchsia Fusion which I have been wearing almost everyday. Went to Sally's to get some nail files and got a lipgloss and some other things. The Purple Rite lipstick I picked up from the CCO.

On a trip to CVS I picked up Sally Hansen's polish in Night Flight and a Covergirl Liquiline Blast eyeliner in black. I got a backup of my favorite LA Colors eyeshadow palette in Traditional from Dollar Tree and a cute doggie pencil sharpener and Hello Kitty body glitter came from my local grocery store. On the same trip to Sephora I picked up Sephora's blending eye brush in #29.

I've been getting into colored eye contacts most recently, I know....what's up with that? I just find them so pretty, especially with smoky eyes and different colors of eyeshadows that bring out the eye color....but anywho, while I was buying contacts I picked up some eyelashes!

And here is what I picked up from Sally's. I needed a 4 way nail file block and some nail files and I picked up Pucker Ups lip balm in Coconut which happens to smell exactly like a Coconut snowcone! yummmmmmm
I also got a Skin Renewal Toner which is now my holy grail of skin toners and will do a review on it very soon....loooooove it!

Kreativ Blogger award

I was nominated by the gorgeous Chelsey!

To accept the award do the following:
1. Thank the person who nominated you for this award.
2. Copy the logo and place it on your blog.
3. Link to the person who nominated you for this award.
4. Name 7 things about yourself that people might find interesting.
5. Nominate 7 Kreative Bloggers.
6. Post links to the 7 blogs you nominate.
7. Leave a comment on each of the blogs letting them know they have been nominated.

Here are my Seven Facts About Me:

1. I'm a little OCD about germs on my hands. I wash my hands each time I handle door knobs, I rarely like to shake hands, I use sanitizer everytime I go out to eat. Also, I've been noticing that many times I'm using my keys to push the buttons on elevators (those buttons are gross, lots of germs).... I guess I'm just weird like that, lol!

2. People tend to tell me that I'm quiet and shy... Honest to God, not true at all. My family at home will tell you :)

3. I hate cantaloupe (melon)...ewww, can't stand it...even the smell.... I also hate Love stories movies, hate them, anything that has to do with love or romance-hate it... Like the movie 'The Notebook' ...hate it. But I love scary or gory movies! The scarier the better!

4. I'm prior military...Once a Marine, Always a Marine, lol....Discharged but yes. Some of the best times of my life were when I was in the military :)

5. I can sit and proof-read papers, reports, or essays for correct grammer, spelling, rhetoric, etc. for hours!! My number 1 pet peeve is seeing or reading something with misspellings and improper use of punctuation, sentence parts, etc.

6. I love being by myself. If I had to choose between going to lunch with a group of like 5 friends or having lunch by myself, I'd choose to be by myself. I'm just a silly introvert I guess!!

7. I like to see regular updates and/or any news on business & stock markets. I like to see the rise and fall of various places, hehehe :D It just interests me for some reason.

I nominate (I don't know very many people, but here it is anyway!):

Guess what?! I'm having a baby!

OMGosh! Children are gifts from God: We are expecting a baby and couldn't be happier!

Ok, I found out by home test last Friday but didn't say anything until I knew for sure. So this past Wednesday I went to the doctor and she confirmed....

Yay!

Me and my hubby feel blessed and we are excited about the baby, Yes I've been feeling a bit sick and I'm been craving certain food already :) I'm just really grateful because baby is truly a blessing....

So since I've been so excited about baby coming, I've done a little window shopping on the internet, heehee....

Cute stroller and car seat, yellow and black and gray circle designs from Babys R Us....
Baby onesies from store.rock.com, I love this one!
If it's a girl? I like lilac or purple tones but I may change it later :)

Another cute one :)

Everyone have a great weekend!

Q: What made you choose your blog?
A: I basically wanted to make new friends and just enjoy writing. I love writing! but most of all I chose to have a blog because I wanted to go more in depth with reviews & swatches of beauty products since I was having a hard time finding in-depth reviews about different products online, so I just decided to start my own reviews to help others in the same situation.

Q: What's your actual name?
A: Erica

Q: Do you have any nicknames?
A: haha! no, there really isn't a short way of saying Erica, unless you call me Eric, but then my son will turn around and say 'what?' because his name is Eric, lol. But sometimes my husband calls me Shortstuff. haha maybe because I am a shorty, 4'11 to be exact :D There's also
Mizz Erica as my friends call me, Oh! and the best nickname ever is Erickita which was developed by my beautiful Grandmother that raised me.

Q: What do you do?
A: I'm staff at the Health and Science Center (for all my San Antonian ladies, you know where!), which is great because I'm in healthcare & education in one.

A: Hmmm, wow I have alot of embarrassing things I do!
