Hard Candy Fox in a Box

'A highly pigmented multi-color powder compact that will surely bring out your inner foxy lady. Each box contains coordinated shades that blend together perfectly and a custom Hard Candy applicator brush. Sweep across chin, cheeks, and forehead and unleash the foxiness in you!'

I love this! What I find most interesting is that it is highly pigmented so you need a tiny amount on your blush brush and a very light hand to create the most perfect peached cheeks. I bought mine at Walmart (where else? lol) and cost me $5.99, great price for a high pigment blush.

-Lasting Power-

When I wear this it stays on all day. I can appreciate that kind of staying power because I really don't like to re-apply during the day. I find it stays on whether I'm wearing liquid foundation, powder foundation, or primer under my makeup...whatever the case, it lasts!

-Packaging-

How cute is it? :) I find that it resembles much of Benefit's boxed blushes and bronzers. This one comes with a cute tiny blush brush on the inside cover of the box, I don't use it since it is a bit harsh on the face, nevertheless, it is cute!

-Color-

Using the above picture as reference, the lighter pink color is a nice light pink color with very low frost and shimmer which can be used as a highlight color on darker skin tones....from my experience, the color is a nice small tint of color on my beige tan skin. The peachy warm color on the right side is the star of the product. It is a beautiful warm peach color which shows up on the skin just as is in the packaging. As mentioned before, you need a very light hand and a small amount on the blush brush to create the perfect color on the cheeks.

-Product Details-

Just FYI...in comparison to Benefit's boxed face blushes and powders, HC Fox in a Box 'Skinny Dipping' contains 5.7 grams of product where as most of Benefit's contains 12.0 grams. HC Fox in a Box costs about a fraction of what Benefit's boxed blushes, compare HC at $5.99 and Benefit's $28.00.

Hard Candy Glam-oflauge concealer

Bargain alert! Hard Candy, what is up with you? You make wonderful, genuine products that don't cost an arm and a leg and create a palette of products for different tastes...Certainly something to appreciate, right gals?

Because my love for that perfect, full-coverage concealer continues, I wanted to share my new found love, the new Glam-oflauge Heavy Duty Concealer. What makes this concealer so special? #1 It can be bought for cheap ($6 at participating Walmart stores), #2 It actually works, and #3 20 grams of concealer in a tube (enough to last a good while especially when you just need a tiny amount during application!) Before trying out this very special concealer, my holy grail concealer, the Prescriptives Camo concealer took the throne. What I love about the HC concealer is that you just need a tiny amount from an already large amount of concealer in the tube. Application is a breeze, the packaging is nice, what more can you ask for?

My shade: Light to Medium, but I chose the Light for the season. Normally I tend to lighten up on my tan quite a bit when it is cold out. I will most likely purchase the Medium shade sometime around April.

product: 5 stars out of 5

packaging: 5 stars out of 5

quality: 5 stars out of 5

overall : 5 stars out of 5

would buy again? Yes

pros:
Large amount in tube, no smell, lasts all day, little goes a long way,
price is right, easy to blend, looks natural

cons:
not sold in every drugstore-only Walmart stores and few websites

On a scale of one to ten I'd rate:
10!

Hard Candy's Ginormous Mascara

Who doesn't love Hard Candy cosmetics? Good, quality makeup at afforable prices! One of my 'must-trys' from a few weeks ago was the Ginormous Mascara by Hard Candy.

Here is what the packaging looks like....Looks gorgeous to me! Even better, they color the tubes according to what color the mascara is, how cute it that!

I'm dying to try out the other colors!

What I love about this mascara is that if you curl your lashes and apply the mascara they do not budge. I'm not saying your lashes appear to feel stiff or too hard, they are actually quite soft but sturdy at the same time.

The only thing I don't like about the Ginormous Mascara is that the brush is just a tad too wide, especially for those hard to reach lashes.

Below: A single coat of Ginormous mascara....

I have mine in Carbon Black. Other colors available include Electric Blue, Purple Haze, and even a gold color called Stash...
Product contains 12.6 grams, $5 each

Hard Candy cosmetics can be purchased at participating Walmart stores!

Last of June Haul

Where has the time went? I swear it was just the beginning of June! The month was very nice for me, went on vacation to the coast, my grandmother and son had a birthday, and both of my boys finished classes....Geeze, the time goes by fast I guess when you are having fun!

So plenty of stuff in June, plenty of polishes and some stuff I bought for backups, plus some things relatively new that I wanted to try out. The nail polishes are all from random places.

Hard Candy Mr. Wrong and Envy were from Walmart, Essie Wicked from the mall (where I also bought a brilliant Dazzleglass dupe lipgloss by Santee in 06), Confetti nail polish, a new kind at CVS, Belle of the Ball and Orly Haute Red also from CVS.

I've heard mixed reviews about Hard Candy's mascaras....You don't know how many times I've visited Walmart to get my hands on 'Ginormous mascara' only to find that it is sold out or out of stock, urh! the annoyance....So I purchased the HC Curl up and Dye mascara in lieu of the Ginormous, which I will be posting a review about shortly. The Falsies Volum' mascara I do like, I'll be reviewing that as well.

The Revlon Creme blush 'Blushing Mauve' and Revlon lipgloss in 'Power Walk Pink' was from Big Lots...

ELF lashes and powder were from the grocery store....
There was an eyeshadow quad Punk Funk in my ELF online shopping cart for quite some time but found it at the grocery store alas...I love how the colors are true on the skin as they look in the quad!

Aside from other ELF quad shadows this one has good pigmentation. These swatches are with underlying UDPP....

Just one of many looks you can create with the quad....

Physicians Formula mineral wear is my HG of mineral compact powders and here is why...The formula is for sensitive or breakout prone skin which I don't have, nevertheless, I still like it as it smoothes out the finish of my skin and makes the foundation look airbrushed. Another plus is the SPF factor.

Dollar Tree recently had LA Colors products that were just calling my name. The products come in these little packages called Value Kits that usually contain 2 or more items. I also took home Sally Hansen line smoothing lipgloss in Pink Sapphire and face powder by LA Colors...

About the Value Kits: Everything but the lipglosses are copacetic. The quality of the lipglosses are pretty bad. The formula is way too thick, almost impossible to wear on their own. I'll be tossing these out! On the bright side, the lipliner, lipstick and eyeshadow palette colors are right on.

The Essence XXXL shine lipglosses, a new love of mine, were looking tempting each time I would frequent my grocery store so I took home Bubble Babe and Pick Me Up. I did not bother swatching Pick me up as it is too clear with very little glitters....

From the Dollar store I found some cute creme nail polishes Touch of Taupe and Chocolate Grape, both Maybelline Express Finishes and have a matching lipcolor. The lipcolors are just ok, but not really anything I'd wear, haha!
