August Mania

It isn't much, but more nail polishes? I think it's time for me to order a wall mount :)

First off, the new Lady Gaga the remix CD is great, lots of remixed tracks, some better than others but definitely worth getting....

What is your favorite Lady Gaga song?

I started out the month trying to find a drugstore metallic eyeliner in Teal and the closest I found was by Essence, 'Pretty Cool'. At CVS I found Sally Hansen NP Gray by Gray a nice bluish teal gray color, Revlon NP in Galaxy, Sally Hansen NP in Mystic Lilac, and Rimmel's LS in Pink Blush. The 3 Essence polishes I found at my local grocery store for $2 each, 'Pointbreak' is the greyish one, 'Hang Loose' is the lilac one, and 'The Worlds Coolest' is the blue one. All are very nice, my favorite is Pointbreak.

Walgreens had all the Sinful polishes for 99 cents so I got Secret Admirer. I picked up the Neutrogena Healthy Skin makeup in 110 Honey Beige, so far it's good. I've been searching for a nice drugstore dupe of MAC's LS Girl About Town and I found Rimmel's LS in In Vogue....I love the color, it may not be an exact match but it's close and is the nicest bright color so far in any drugstore line. The reason I'm going after bright colors is because to me sometimes nude or light pink lippies can look like a bore, bright lipsticks in any range of color scream "I'm confident!"

Excited about the new Dazzle lipsticks by MAC t'was perfect timing for me since I had 2 separate back2mac's.....I got Wham and Troublemaker

Wham is nice pinkish med mauve with mutiple colored reflects-Gosh the picture doesn't do it much justice, it really is a nice color for fall!

Troublemaker is a cool bright pink with mutiple colored reflects

Dollar Tree is where I got the Sally Hansen 12 hr treatment, a very nice moisturizing clear gloss.

Cute Nails for a Buck!

I recently decided to try out some nail stickers for fingers and toes by Nailene! These are super easy to use and are really cheap! This one package contains and cost me $1. The decal I used is a floral piece with 2 small rhinestones on it. Sally's Beauty supply sell these I believe from $4 and up...You can use them on all your nails or you can just dress up a pair at one time like I did....

The color I chose was Sinful Cream Pink, a shimmery creamy hot pink.

Cute! Just goes to show you don't need to spend much for cute nails :)

May Haul Part 2

The month pretty much went by super fast! I’m counting down the days left for school and I’m eager to get the summer started! First up: I had the pleasure of sampling Bath and Body's new summer Vanillas scent Lemon....I fell hard for this scent, it is sweet and tart and smells delish, just like a lemon merengue pie :) I bought the lotion only and then went back for a backup lotion and the spray.

I wanted to split up this haul because I've been waiting eagerly for my MAC 'To the Beach' order to arrive, so instead of just showing you what I got from MAC on a separate post I'd thought I'd save half of my haul to show you along with the MAC order, when it finally does come...That's basically the driving force that is keeping me from just dashing right over to my nearest MAC store and purchasing all of the collection! knowing how pretty it is...lol...so part 2 of this haul is coming up pretty soon in a day or two...

The 2 Sally Hansen HD polishes I bought from Walgreens ‘DVD' and 'Spectrum' ....pretty cool colors, I would describe them as ultra shimmery but not glittery, I first called them a Dazzleglass polish because it is what would result if a MAC dazzleglass and nail polish got together, lol :D

The Aero makeup bags were on clearance for $4, SH Jumping Jade nail polish was from Target and I picked up a few Sinful 'pinks' from Walgreens: (left to right) Beautiful Girl, Cream Pink, and Pink.

I was organizing my drawer with alot of drugstore lippies and came across 2 CG Wetslicks glosses I forgot I bought back in April. I got Candy and Tutu. On that same day I got the CG eyeshadow trio.

The Profusion palette I was telling you about a few days ago has been winning over my heart. I just love the formula of all the shadows, most are shimmers but are lovely
I hauled these Sally Hansen Moist and Matte lip colors from the Dollar Tree because of a haul video I saw by Elena or FUNKYEYESHADOW. Let me tell you, if you can get your hands on these please try, for a dollar you won't be disappointed...These are the bomb! haha - oldschool words, but yeah! :D I got Linen, Satine, and Chiffon.
Last by not least I was looking for a great neutral palette for everyday and came across Shady Lady, which is sold at Sephora. I went over to see if I could find it in the store but they didn't have it so I opted to buy it from TheBalm.... Shipping was free and they sent me a sample as well. I love the colors! I'm excited about this palette :)

Oh yeah, my new nail polish project still a work in progress but I will show it to you once it is finished!

Everyone have a wonderful week! Please ask away if you have questions, Remember to join my nail polish giveaway if you haven’t done so already!

Easter Nails! NOTD...

Inspired by....Easter, pastels, brightly colored eggs! The simple multi-colored tips are nice and a pleasant way to make them a bit different, unique and fun instead of the usual and boring but pretty white tips.....even those zebra or cheetah prints *yawn*.....

Anyways, these were pretty easy to do....All you need are 5 separate pastel colored nail polishes...You can use any color you want, just as long as it is obviously different from one another. Unfortunately I wasn't able to work in a nice butter yellow NP because I only have 5 fingers on each hand, lol, but I managed to make them colorful and well balanced....if that makes sense :)

You can also do a multi-colored tip but with neon colors, this is something I'll be doing as soon as it heats up in central Texas and for during the summer when we go to the beachhouse this June :) As you can tell from the color my nails are slightly different lengths...I blame this on my own natural karma...my nails are thin and fragile as filo paper in an Arizona desert so any little thing breaks them....I just do the best I can and look good in the process....

Tutorial:
What you need -
Scotch tape
5 different colors
a clear or jelly based pink non-frosty color for the nail bed
A clear top coat NP

1. Clean and dry your nails....don't apply a base coat....I didn't but you can if you wish, I just don't have time to wait for it to dry, plus you'll be applying the tape so when you rip it off some of the clear polish might come off too....mess mess mess,- so just leave it be, your nails will be ok, don't freak out :D

2. Get a piece of clear tape....you'll cover the pink part of your nail and align it to the first part of your white natural tip - where the pink meets the white, so that once you paint over it there will be no white nail showing...

3. Apply the colors on your tips only, I used 2 coats for each nail...but use as much as you wish to obtain the opaqueness....

4. Please peel off your tape from your nail while it is still wet so that you don't rip off part of the color too!

5. Once they have dried a bit get your french color and lightly but entirely dab on the color on the pink part of your nail making sure not to touch your freshly colored tips. I did not apply the nail bed first because...well, see why on instruction #1 !

6. Wait a bit for the nail pink bed part to dry then apply the clear top coat over the entire nail....

7. Finished! Now you have fun Easter nails!

The little monkeys that made this all happen:

OPI Shorts Story
Sinful Innocent
Essence What do you Think?
Maybelline Pie in the Sky
Essence No More Drama
NYC Love Letters (for the nail bed pink part)
LA Colors clear top coat (my fave)

Enjoy!

Dollar Store, CVS, Nail Polish haul!

Hey everyone! It may not be much but it's good enough for me. I did not get any lippies because my lippie stash is over-populated, haha. I am going to do an updated makeup collection pretty soon for those that wanted me to, I'm just getting organized the way I want it but I'll post it as soon as I can!

Last weekend I got a VS little purse I use as a makeup bag for my purse!!

Speaking of makeup bags, I'm starting to look for more smaller items that I can take along in my little makeup bag such as mini-sized mascaras, eyeliners, glosses, etc...and I found this...

Cutest eyeshadow palette ever :)

About the size of half a credit card , awww! Here it is as it compares to the size of a single eyeshadow by NARS

And it comes with 6 colors, all are really nice and really pigmented + velvet soft...

I'm keeping this in my purse makeup bag :)

I like the website Zappos.com and decided to see what makeup stuff they had and found Global Goddess eyeshadows. I actually had tried 2 colors but I returned one of the colors (Kajol) because it looked too much like MAC Beautymarked which I already have but I did keep Makabari....

These shadows are wonderful, a little on the expensive side but to me is worth it since they are very pigmented and they last, no creasing and the colors they offer are amazing.
Makabari is a Rich-browned reddish rust with pinkish or rose undertones, no frost or shimmer, velvet or satin finish not matte...simply fabulous. I'll have to do a look using this color pretty soon.

CVS treats

What a treat! I only saw a few things I liked, but nearly alot of stuff was 75% off. These I got for $1.45 each...

And they had a buy one and get the second for 50% off on Maybelline so I decided to try the Mineral Power liquid (Medium 2.5) and Instant age Rewind cream (Sandy Beige) both are good-I especially like the Mineral Power foundie.

Revlon came out with these new Satin Luxurious finish eyeshadows I thought were unique so to start off I picked up Peacock Lustre and love it! I will have to go back and collect the rest maybe if they have a sale pretty soon.

Also got Dollar Store treats :) Eyeshadow palettes by LA Colors...

Nail polish kick

I collect nail polish so once in a while if I see a color that is unique or is something I don't have yet I'll get it, but it does depend on the brand since not all brands of nail polish are all that great. I love China Glaze, OPI, NYC, Sinful Colors just to name a few. Anyways here is what I accumalated in the past few days...

The Sinful Colors polish in Social Ladder is the most unique color I've ever seen. It is this pink to nude beige creme base and tiny pink and gold pearlized particles floating around in it.

A few weeks back ELF had it's holiday 50% off studio items so I grabbed the brush holder after seeing recommendations. I love it! I can't express how great it is, the compartments are just the right size. I'm not a person that likes my stuff all over the place (lippies mixed with eyeshadows mixed with blushes in a drawer...the horror). I like to be very plain and simple when organizing so this is perfect for me. I placed all my face brushes on the first compartment, next was all eye brushes and in the last one I put in every single eye or lip pencil or any sort of makeup pencils that I own. I don't like to see my pencils lying down in a drawer as it is harder to see and choose a color that I'm looking for so this is great.

Collective Haul

Ida from youtube's Htownpnai had shown a few Icing Baked shadows in one of her haul vids and after seeing I knew I had to check them out.

I don't know if they have any more colors but I bought 4 of them and tested them and they are really great! Comparable to the MAC mineralized shadows, the Icing Baked shadows have 2 colors swirled together such as the blue which is swirled with a gun powder gray. Baked shadows tend to have a soft, super pigmented texture and that is what I found in these. Unfortunately they don't have names or numbers on each. The packaging is so similar to that of the MAC mineralized ones...

As always, let me know if you have questions or if you want swatches!

Sinful Colors Nail Polish Swatches

I'm a little late doing this, but hopefully this is helpful. Let me know if you have any questions! :)
