How to glow like a supermodel!

You asked so here it is! I love the way makeup is done on supermodels...they have this sheen or 'glow' to their cheeks, something I adore! Fortunately achieving that look is fairly simple. While I'm not certain exactly how the real supermodels do their cheeks I can definitely share with you how I achieve that glowy-sunkissed look on my cheeks.
I am excited to share this makeup tip with you all because it's just in time for summer! Perfect for breaking out all those pretty nudes, pinks, and shimmers for the face!

#1 Concentrate on applying blush where you normally would apply the so-called 'highlighter'.

I depise when I'm told to smile and apply blush on the apples of the cheeks. While makeup is there to beautify us all we must also look at the other reason why we apply makeup: To look younger. Because of this I apply blush higher than the apples of the cheeks. Gossmakeupartist explains this quite well in his video below, check it out.

#2 Instead of using a matte blush use a blush with shimmer.

....But be careful to not use a blush with shimmer overload. Pick one that has a nice sheen and pretty shimmer. I have one too many blushes with shimmer so my choices are endless but my favorites at the moment are Neutrogena healthy skin custom glow blush/bronzer duo, MAC blush in Peachtwist, and MAC Mineralized skinfinish in So Ceylon. The shimmer creates a distinct glow on what would be the highlight area of the cheek bone for that glowy look.

#3 Brush a tiny bit of blush on the top portion of your forehead.

This step is totally optional but I love the look it creates. A few centimeters below your hairline is where sun normally hits on your forehead so I love applying a little bit of blush on this area as it gives my face this cute and beautiful glow.

#4 Last but not least, don't contour.

We are trying to achieve a glowy look, not contour our bones out like in drag LOL but seriously just for this Glow like a Supermodel look, don't contour your cheeks....save the contouring for another day!

Pic examples below.....

If you love to apply 'highlighter' just by habit go ahead and do so but apply it with a light hand so that you do not cover your blusher.

Have a great summer!!

Hard Candy Fox in a Box

'A highly pigmented multi-color powder compact that will surely bring out your inner foxy lady. Each box contains coordinated shades that blend together perfectly and a custom Hard Candy applicator brush. Sweep across chin, cheeks, and forehead and unleash the foxiness in you!'

I love this! What I find most interesting is that it is highly pigmented so you need a tiny amount on your blush brush and a very light hand to create the most perfect peached cheeks. I bought mine at Walmart (where else? lol) and cost me $5.99, great price for a high pigment blush.

-Lasting Power-

When I wear this it stays on all day. I can appreciate that kind of staying power because I really don't like to re-apply during the day. I find it stays on whether I'm wearing liquid foundation, powder foundation, or primer under my makeup...whatever the case, it lasts!

-Packaging-

How cute is it? :) I find that it resembles much of Benefit's boxed blushes and bronzers. This one comes with a cute tiny blush brush on the inside cover of the box, I don't use it since it is a bit harsh on the face, nevertheless, it is cute!

-Color-

Using the above picture as reference, the lighter pink color is a nice light pink color with very low frost and shimmer which can be used as a highlight color on darker skin tones....from my experience, the color is a nice small tint of color on my beige tan skin. The peachy warm color on the right side is the star of the product. It is a beautiful warm peach color which shows up on the skin just as is in the packaging. As mentioned before, you need a very light hand and a small amount on the blush brush to create the perfect color on the cheeks.

-Product Details-

Just FYI...in comparison to Benefit's boxed face blushes and powders, HC Fox in a Box 'Skinny Dipping' contains 5.7 grams of product where as most of Benefit's contains 12.0 grams. HC Fox in a Box costs about a fraction of what Benefit's boxed blushes, compare HC at $5.99 and Benefit's $28.00.

Blush and Bronzer had a...uh...little accident

This is what happens when you are not too careful with your most favorite compacts or powders! Ok, so there is good news and bad news to this makeup violation: The good news is that I have about 5 backups of the blush (on the right), the bad news is that my most favorite bronzer ever (on the left) is by Tropez, which to my knowledge is discontinued

Since this has happened I'm very careful as to not move it around so much, in fear that I may lose pieces. I still use it but I dip my brush in it very carefully

I can't look at it anymore, it's just so sad looking! LOL

Has this sort of thing ever happened to you? Which beauty product was it?

Blush collection + Tell me about your first blush!

Blush collection
I know it isn't much and as much as I love blush I should have more :)
but you can only collect so much before they all start to look the same....

Tell me about your first blush!

I'd like to know what was the first blush you ever owned & wore all the time or if you didn't even know if it was the right color! I had one by Covergirl that I wore all the time, I'm not even sure if they make it anymore!
So tell me about your first blush in the comments section of this post :)
My Blush CollectionClick pic to enlarge

The Wet n Wild one on the lower central right called 'Spotlight Peach' is actually a blush that had 4 stripes..Well I accidentally dropped it and it cracked so I powdered it and re-pressed it as a 4 combo to make 1 color, it came out pretty interesting... haha

My new & first love blush by MAC in Peachtwist is not pictured, I just got another Peachtwist this past weekend, it was actually my first blush ever from MAC, I used it up like 3 times over

Ask me if you have any questions...If you want me to do swatches of them all please let me know!
