LA Colors Eyeshadows

Using only my LA Colors eyeshadow palettes from Dollar Tree I decided to create something a little dramatic. This was an interesting experience in that I was not sure how well the shadows would work....Let me explain, I have used only 1 or 2 colors by themselves in the past but since I was incorporating a few colors for this look, I had a few doubts (like pigmentation, blending)....

My feelings were wrong, these shadows are really nice....together! I guess with a little imagination and patience (some shadows are hard to work with!) you can create something nice....

To start off, I contoured the eyes with a satiny soft light brown color found on the LA Colors 'Traditional' palette. I then covered the entire lid with a soft purple shade from the 'Chic' palette. I'm not sure why I chose this color, at the time I thought it would stand out but as you can see from the picture the color soon faded. For the crease and outer 'V' I applied a shimmery chocolate color from the 'Darling' palette....

For more depth and to increase the 'smoky' of the look, LA Colors mineral e/s in black was added to the outer 'V' and crease blending just slightly in.

For highlight, I just used the lightest white pearl color from the Traditional palette, but honestly any light color from any of the palettes will suffice as a highlight color.

For a pop of color I added a magenta maroonish color from 'Fabulous' on the lower lashline

Eyes:
UDPP
On the Lid - 2
Contour area - 1
Crease- 3 and LA Colors minerals eyeshadow 'Black'
Highlight - the 'White pearl' color from the Traditional palette
lower lashline - 4 and Sephora Eyebrow #2 pencil
Maybelline line stiletto
Loreal Voluminous mascara

Face:
Revlon Colorstay Golden Caramel
Prescriptives Camo concealer
LA Colors blush Spice

Lips:
Santee lipliner Flush Red
Nicka K lipstick 'Wicked'

My favorite product out of any of the LA Colors line from Dollar Tree happens to be the nail polishes and lipsticks... And if I could pick one more favorite it would be the 'Traditional' e/s palette. What are your favorite Dollar Tree makeup products?

Have a great weekend everyone!

Shady Lady look

Using my Shady Lady palette was awesome due to the fact that the shadows are easy to manage and are true in color. I just wanted to clarify that this palette is mostly for earthy or neutral looks...whatever color you fancy you can use to your liking.....You can use only 1 color by itself or dress it up by adding color in the crease or adding a contour color, etc.

Sure you can't really identify a bright, funky color in the palette but you can also spike it with the darkest shade for a dramatic look.

Anywho, here is the Soft greenish Taupe look I came up with:

I remember briefly talking about the palette in my May Haul posting but just to reiterate the palette can be found at Sephora.com, I'm not sure about Sephora stores, I have checked but found nothing. I found that buying The Balm products from their website are cheaper since Sephora.com will charge you tax and shipping.
The Balm also offers a few other beauty products such as lipstick, blush, and tinted moisturizer to name a few...and the packaging is quite cute as it echos a similarity with Benefit cosmetics!

Sorry...I had to!

The palette has plenty of neutral colors....and they are very versatile.....

On the lid - Insane Jane
Contour area and lower lashline - Makeout Mary
Crease and outer V - Bossy Bobbi
Highlight and inner corner - Devilish Danielle
Upper lashline - Maybelline Line Stiletto

Face:
Revlon Colorstay foundation makeup Natural Tan
Prescriptives camo concealer

Soft Grey Makeup - Feeling Better FOTD!

What a nice day to get dolled up :)
Ahh recovery :) After feeling a bit better after going home, I started my makeover after-birth ritual :D I guess it's my little way of getting in the beauty swing of things again after major surgery, I've done this for all my surgeries....I just believe in looking your best right after giving birth....So I decided to put together a look that says "I'm healthy and feeling excellent and I just had a baby and I'm still a knock-out!"...lol

It's a subdued look that doesn't look too plain but not too trashy or overly done up. I would consider this an
'everyday look'...especially for a new mom with plans on the go! :)

Did I mention I'm currently loving my Wet n Wild eyeshadow palette in Paradise Cove? :) I'm using it almost everyday...For this look I've included a pic to map which colors I used since they are not labeled individually.
