My thoughts on the EOS Lip Sphere

EOS lip balm

Found at Walgreens, (Rite-aid?). Currently on sale at Amazon.com. Website: http://www.evolutionofsmooth.com/
I bought mine at Walgreens; It came in this 3 pack holiday pack for $9.99.

What they say it is/does:
"95% organic, 100% natural. To keep your lips looking and feeling healthy, we created this 95% organic, 100% natural lip balm that's petrolatum & paraben free, just like you."

" Long lasting moisture

Shea butter & vitamin E

Smoothes on clear

New smooth sphere precisely glides on to lips

Twist-off top

Gluten-free

Phthalate-free "

"Packed with antioxidant-rich vitamin E, soothing shea butter and jojoba oil, eos keeps lips moist, soft and sensationally smooth."

So here is my review on the EOS lip balm:
product: 1 stars out of 5
packaging: 4 stars out of 5
quality: 1 stars out of 5
overall : 2 stars out of 5
would buy again? No

pros: Very cute clever packaging, smell is pleasant-not too strong, does not feel waxy, is somewhat affordable, comes in a few scents, easy to take along in purse.

cons: dries up too quickly, doesn't moisturize all the way, smell could be more prominent, has no flavor, has no color, not found in a variety of places/stores, comes in very few scents (some may like more of a variety of scents).

Here is what I thought:

What can I say? When I first came across EOS, I had no idea of how to try it out. I know I've never seen it at any store in my city. I first heard about it as one of my followers on Twitter mentioned it. After unsuccessfully trying to locate it online somewhere (they now have a website, but before they didn't) I found it on Amazon, was too scared to spend the money to try out a product I was not familiar with, so I just left it in my shopping cart. Well just this past week I found it at my local walgreens. I found that it was a good opportunity to try it since I had waited all this time to. Even better I had all 3 scents to try out.

My first reaction to the balm was that it barely had any smell to it. It has a very very light scent, not something I was expecting. I have numerous other chapsticks and lip balms that have a medium scent to it whether it be vanilla, cherry, etc. So this scent to me was very vague. too light to recognize is a way to put it.

This lip balm tends to dry out my lips slightly after applying it so that was also very weird. The only scent I tested was the summer fruit one. The other 2 scents, which are honeysuckle-honeydew and sweet mint, each have the same scent, which you would think is not possible since honey dew is a fruit and mint is MINT, haha. There is no flavor at all nor is it colored with any kind of pigment, it is clear with all 3 of the scents I tried.

The lasting power of the balm: I'd say it stayed on 10 min but not more than 1 hr. like I said, I put it on and it seemed to make my lips more dry. I applied it on my lips and after an hour I had to apply more. This seemed to be my only option to keeping my lips somewhat moisturized. After a few hours I felt like it did nothing for my lips. This lip balm did not moisturize my lips nor make them soft/supple. After trying it out for 2 days I can honestly say it did nothing for my lips, spot treatment wise nor long-term. A balm is suppose to be comforting, this lip balm wasn't.

On a scale of one to ten I'd rate this balm a 1 and half. There is not anything special about this balm other than it's neat sphere packaging. I was really disappointed with this balm which is why I've come to appreciate my many other BETTER lip balms that I currently own like my wonderful Carmex, MAC TLC, Burt's Bee's, CVS brand Chapblock in Cherry, Nivea, & FruitSmackers lip balms.

Just another Lippie haul!!

I bought a few things over the weekend that seemed to start another growing addiction... haha....

Revlon Super Lustrous lipsticks & Wet N Wild silk finish lipsticks

Honestly, I have passed Wet N Wild so many times when I'm in a Walgreens or Target and never really looked at the colors. I used to own one of their lipsticks a long time ago but never went back for another. The quality is nice, I just wished I could locate all the other gorgeous colors they have listed on their website. As far as the Revlon SL lippies go, I love these, I now own 8 of them and pretty soon I may own 20, LOL! The quality is just amazing and they have a great color selection. A review of Revlon SL lippies coming soon!
.

Here are 2 Wet N Wild lippies that I collected, they are so creamy and feel wonderful, they are pigmented and last a good while. I love them, should have started collecting them sooner :)
Retro Pink & Dark Pink Frost

There are some other colors I'm trying to find, it seems as though every store I visit has a random selection of colors!

Other nice colors I want:
'Blushing Bali'
'Taj-Mauve hal'
'Pink Ice'
'Mouveau Pink'
'Russian Tea Rose'
'Bora Bora Nude'
'Fuchsia with Blue pearl'
'Tokyo a pink'

The Revlon lippies I got...
.
I had to stop myself after these because I would have bought about 5 more, lol I'm really loving these, I would love to start a collection!
.
I also picked up a gorgeous Milani lipstick in 'Attitude' which is a light raspberry color with gold frost...
And here are the swatches
Please let me know if you have any questions! I hope I'm doing a good job on the swatches!

Zoya, MAC, Bonne Bell Haul!

Hey girlies! Long time no see, but excited because I finally was able to pick up a few lipglosses in my spare time. I'm really enjoying this cold weather, what a favorite pastime of mine is to shop when its cold outside...shopping + cold weather = LUV :)

Sally Hansen lip products are really starting make a scene in my makeup bag. Right up until just last week I never really gave SH much thought, even when I've passed by it so many times in CVS. So I bought the Miracle lip saver and Mineral lipgloss and love them! I just wished SH made more of a color selection. I'll post swatches at the very bottom for you to see.
2 color technology, the middle is the color core treatment, clear is the moisture lock treatment

Citrine is a pretty nude peach color with pink reflects in it, very pretty :)
And....
my Zoya shipment came just in time for Thanksgiving!

:)

A few weeks ago Zoya had a giveaway of 3 Hot Lips lip gloss balms, color was my choice and of course I took advantage! I just paid for shipping...

I was super excited when I saw the colors, they are amazing quality! I'm ordering more now, Thank you Zoya!
'Minx' happens to be my favorite color from this collection.

The gorgeous Robin Meade has the prettiest color on her lips whenever I see her on HL news. I will have to make the time to go to Saks or Nordies to try and find a dupe for her lippie, it's so pretty! Or I may just try to contact her and ask her what the color is : /??? but in the meantime I found something close to it.....It's the MAC lippie in Ravishing. In the pic it may look bright & scary but believe me, it's a gorgeous creamy peach color :)

MAC lipstick Ravishing (creamsheen)

How many of these Revlon 'super lustrous' lippies will I collect before the year is over? probably about 20, lol The funny thing is that I seem to find all the pretty nude shades at the Biglots. I got 'Just Enough Buff' yesterday, it's so pretty. :)
Another great buy from Biglots, a pretty package of Bonne Bell liplites with a sheer tint balm. Liplites are my fave!
I like this package because it cost me $2.50, Liplites by themselves cost about $2.25 to $4 each depending, so this is a great deal since I'm getting 2 liplites and a lipbalm. Since the swatch is mostly a clear sheen, here is the pic of the balm... I took this pic to show the actual reflects in the gloss, I'm not sure if you can see it but it's pretty!

I tried Ulta's Super Glossy lipgloss the other day and hated it :( Some people like it but I hated the smell, maybe it's just because I'm pregnant, but the smell was too flowery. I like my lipgloss to smell fruity or creamy or like nothing at all. So I quickly took them back and got this instead...
Urban Decays pocket rocket gloss in Doug.
Smells amazing! To me, it smells like peanut brittle, which I love :) the color is a sheer bright pink tint w/ pink, white & silver glitters.

Oh! and my friend recommended this natural wear mineral powder by Wet n Wild and I was at first skeptical but tried it anyway. And some surprise I actually like it! I use it with my MAC Kabuki #182. It leaves a very nice finish, coverage is med to full & buildable.

That's all for now, stay tuned for more Christmas time haulage, haha :)
