Santee eyeshadow palettes!

I love these! I was really bored today but was very grateful because my holiday vacation started today, yay! So me and the kiddos decided to browse in the dollar store today and I came across these e/s palettes. I thought to myself 'eh, for a dollar, why not..', yeah and thinking that the colors will totally suck, but unbelievably....they did not. These color payoffs are great! (and only a Dollar, heehee:D) The e/s itself is mineralized, and they have the same texture and pigmentation as CS 88 shimmer palettes.
Just gorgeous, I realized also that they are not made in China but instead in Puerto Rico. The company is in the US.
Look how beautiful the colors are! Yep, they are highly pigmented and just wonderful: I think the palette on the left is more of a pink and mauve and burgundy palette and the one at right is more of a neutral and golds palette.
I'll be going back tomorrow to get more! :) I"ll do swatches soon :D

Moving on to MAC news, the new Dame Edna collection is available online today. I'm not sure if it is selling in stores, but I will check up on that the day after christmas. My adorable hubby bought me a few from the collection (I love him!), so I'm naturally excited to receive them in the mail in a few days....will do a vid and swatches once they arrive :)

Merry Christmas everyone!

Holy Grail-Sonia Kashuk blush brush

Well, what can I say about the Sonia Kashuk Blusher brush. One thing for sure is that this brush is AMAZING! So soft and gentle on the face, and here is the best part- It works as a foundie brush, this brush is my true love. My face looks flawless everytime I use it w/foundie, just airbrushed and amazing. I'm definitely buying another, I would rather spend 12 to 14 dollars on a perfectly good foundie brush than spend $32 or more on a MAC foundation brush. Here are just the great benefits of using the SK Blusher brush as a stipling foundation brush:

  • Works great as a stipling brush

  • Buff on foundation for a airbrushed, flawless look everytime

  • Not costly, is about $12-$14

  • SAVES ALOT OF PRODUCT!! (one of my favorites about this brush)

  • does NOT shed

  • can be multi-functional, be a foundation brush one day and a blusher brush the next

  • Washable

Wonderful dupe for MAC's 190 brush!

By Lali.Amora from San Antonio, TX on 12/16/2008

5out of 5

Pros: Functional, Flawless application, Washable, Time-Saver

Best Uses: Applying foundation, Everyday

Describe Yourself: Trendy Style

I love this brush so much I'm thinking about buying like 5 more. This brush gives your foundation application a flawless look. I have tested my foundation with 3 diff. brushes and this is the only one that gives me a flawless finish, everytime! I just can't put into words how much I love this brush, and for a dollar?! You can't beat that :) The descriptions says to apply using upward strokes, but this brush is so good I use all kinds of strokes and it will still give me a perfect, even, flawless finish.

NYC Chroma Face Glow: Dupe for MAC MSF's petticoat and so ceylon

*6/14/11 - I'm selling Moonstone and Sunstone just in case you missed out. If you are interested in purchasing one of the NYC Chroma Face glows I do have 3 in stock. I have 2 of the Moonstone and 1 of the Sunstone. So if you are interested in buying this limited edition product please leave a comment and I will get back to you to answer questions about pricing and shipping fee's etc. Thank you and welcome to my blog!
---------------------------------------
Exact dupe for MAC MSF's, and I mean EXAAAAAACT. The new limited edition NYC Chroma face glow. Luv it!!!! It is awesome.....
I had read somewhere about this comparison and guess what it is insane because they are identical, no kidding, cut n' dry. I had to see for myself and there is practically no difference (yeah, besides the price, NYC's is $6 vs. MAC is $21.
MAC has uh, too much shimmer on the Petticoat and So Ceylon, so this NYC stuff is even better. With MAC's the pigment-too much, NYC's pigment is just right.
So, I already have 'Moonstone' which is the color to the right on the pic that I've posted here. This pic is kinda dark and washed out (so please excuse, the colors are actually more vibrant and colorful) and the other 2 top pics I credit those to ebay users where I was able to get them.
After work I'm running to my nearest CVS where I will buy like 10 more of these goodies.....mahahaha!
*Update*
8-31-2010
NYC Chroma Face Glows for Sale $10
-**I have 1 more left**Moonstone (pink shimmered with pastel & maroon veining)
-**2 in stock**-Sunstone (bronzy beige color, shimmery with gold and maroon veining)
So I ran around town and bought plenty of them.
Click here to view the SWATCHES of them both
If anyone is looking for a dupe of MAC's Petticoat (or any other hard to find MSF's) and can't seem to get a hold of one, please consider buying one from me. They look practically the same, possibly just a few differences in the veining but hey it's worth it!
If you are interested, send me your name and paypal email so that I may send you one. US buyers only.
Thank you everyone and have a great week!

My thoughts on cream shadows

Where shall I start? What is so good about cream e/s? Is it the color, pigmentation, feel? Personally, I like cream e/s, but boy does that stuff crease. I mean, some companies have gorgeous colours, Which brings me to the real reason why I'm writing this blog today. The new Metal Urge by MAC collection just came out this wk. (BTW, I love MAC, who doesn't right?) From what I read, the Brushed Metal X e/s in this collection description says 'Creamy' but it never says it is a 'cream'...(why did they have to go and confuse me like this!) MAC, I think you need a little more practice putting words to mean what you say! I may be new to makeup, I mean, I don't know as much as to compare it to the earlier MAC metals collection, but I thought I would ellaborate anyways.

When I think of a cream type of eyeshadow, I think of Revlon's Illuminance cream e/s, MUF cream color, MAC paintpots, and various creamsticks. Cream color e/s may or may not be a makeup addict best-friend due to the ridiculous creasing it leaves. I think so bad it makes us cringe, cry, curse every badword in the book, and throw out the darn thing out the window (I'm over-exagerrating) So, why would MAC market a creamy e/s (different from PPots, shadestick, etc)? I know one thing is for sure, I trust the MAC company. If they can conjure up dreamy lippies, HP e/s (high pigmentation eye shadows), lipgloss that doesn't budge, I'm pretty sure they would design a creamy e/s that may not crease, but may crease a lil' bit but still look lovely :D, see that's what happens when MAC has support! lol........

So we all would agree that some e/s do have a velvet feel to it (hence MAC's Satin e/s) that would, in my own little way resemble a 'cream'. I think I just thought too much into the description, haha! Anywho, to further clarify my confusion, I emailed MAC makeup artist Barbie to clarify the texture...She described the e/s to be a very light cream that dries to a powder finish, and, of course, with HP. To me, that sounds wonderful, I'm thinking about grabbing 1 or 2 this weekend!

So, if you are out and about and pick up Metal Urge e/s or you are a divine addict, like I am, and happen to already have some, please comment this blog and let me know your thoughts about it. What did you get? What worked for you? Was there alot of creasing? What will you be getting from this collection?
Everyone have a glorious Friday and wonderful weekend!

Journal Entry

I've done some damage to my wallet. Uh-oh. but I'll be okay. I did some shopping on the internet this month. I'm super excited about all the goodies I should be receiving in the next few days. And of course I will have to take pics of swatches and make a youtube vid about it.
3 wonderful places to shop, 3 different packages all for me!

48 e/s Palette
The original CS 48 E/S palette! I may be the last girl on the planet to get one but who cares, at least I'm getting one! finally dammit!
Love it! I would have bought it from Coastal Scents but they were "sold out".... But it doesn't really matter because I got this one for about 8 dollars cheaper than Coastal Scents... but I guess that's the price you pay for the waiting time. I'll be expecting this sometime in early December since it is shipped from far,far away. If you want one visit bunbuncity in ebay.com, I'll post a link below this message.

Pigments
Moving on, another order I placed is from 'the She Space'. I'll be getting like 15 piggies? (pic at the top is what the piggies look like). No wait, make that like 8 piggies and some other stuff, anywho, I'll end up showing you :D......Oh! by the way, view these colorful piggies in my other blog post, I believe can be found on the right side archive.... received those samples and loved them so much I ordered full sz jars, which was a good idea since at that time the owner Heather had most of her products on the website on sale for the anniversary. Yay! So I bought them for like $3.45 or something like that, I really can't remember. I'll post the She Space website at the end of this message too.

Cinema Secrets and La Femme

And last, but not least...I'm so excited because I finally ordered from the website Makeup Mania a.k.a 'Graftobian'. I'll post that link too. I ordered a few piggies by Cinema Secrets, blush by La Femme, and a translucent powder for mattifying. My whole 'Combination oil skin' fiasco is ridiculous. I'm trying out the products and I intend on giving reviews. This website has numerous beauty products for your needs. I've noticed MM is mostly makeup for theatrical purposes. Like gory face kits, wigs and things of that nature. The rest of the website is full of beauty products for our beautiful faces :P I'll be expecting this package sometime by the end of the month, but probably longer since Thanksgiving is coming up. I'll have this haul to show you and most def will make a video of to post in my youtube channel.

Have a gorgeous day!

I posted the link this way because the MM website is easier to navigate if you go to the A thru Z page, which url I provided for you.

Lipstick sales are up!

****Check out this article from Yahoo Buzz that I found today. I think you'll find it quite interesting. This article was not written by me, it is written by Claudine Zap.****

The Lipstick Economy

In this economy that's in the red, there may be one bright spot that comes in shades of pink, brown, and taupe: the lipstick index.
It's a financial indicator that's as true as that colorfast shade that stays on you, and doesn't get on your man. In bad times, lipstick sales soar while other sales sour. The term "Leading Lipstick Indicator" was coined by Leonard Lauder, chairman of makeup company Estée Lauder, after he noticed the trend during tough economic times. And what is indicated right now? All lips are pointing upwards.
After all, women don't need to think twice about plunking down eight bucks for a drugstore lipstick while passing on $800 Jimmy Choos.
History can be our guide here. As a Harvard professor explains: "The decade of the Great Depression, cosmetic sales increased 25 percent." After the downturn following Sept. 11, lipstick sales doubled.
Looks like we're on track for a similar lip-color craze with this latest economic funk. The New York Times notes that in the last few months, lipstick sales have shot up 40%, and even put out a list of favorites ranging in price from the budget-conscious $1.99 to the more pricey but still affordable $55. Preferred colors for this new economy? Red is out. Neutrals are in.
Maybe you can't put lipstick on a pig. But you sure can stock up on the stuff during rough financial times.
*I find this article true enough, well truth be told, I have bought at least 20 new lipsticks or some kind of lip product in just the past 2 months alone, so if other ladies did the same, it's no wonder the sales are up!*
Here is the link if you want to read her actual article on the web:

Smells salty

By laliamora from san antonio, tx on 11/6/2008

1out of 5

Pros: Glossy Finish, Convenient Container

Cons: Stinky, Bad Tasting, Not True To Color, Clumpy Application

Describe Yourself: Trendy Style

This gloss smells salty/sweaty (yes, I said sweaty!) somewhat like hands that haven't been washed for a while. Totally gross. The one I have is Berry pop. Ok, the stench isn't a good thing since it's suppose to smell fruity, fresh and clean. Eww, just thinking about it gets me grossed out. Will never buy again.

Irritating
By laliamora from San antonio, tx on 10/20/2008
2out of 5
Pros: Easy To Apply, Easy To Take-off, Smooth
Cons: Irritates Skin, Poor Coverage, Doesn't Stay On, Ineffective
Describe Yourself: Trendy Style
Skin Tone: Medium
It burned when I first put it on, it barely gives any coverage, it does need to be thicker. The colors are good, I have a medium honey skintone so any of the 3 that are offered would work. But I just think it needs to be more thicker and less irritating to the delicate skin under the eye.

Lipstick comparison

I have always loved creamy lipsticks, MAC's new Creamsheen lipsticks are the perfect combination of creamy intense color and sparkle/shine.
At left is Creme dNude, at right is Hang-up
I thought the lipsticks bear a resemblance to other MAC lipsticks such as satin finish Media and matte Honeylove.
Well, maybe not exactly, but close ;)
Hang-up and Media, Can you tell the difference?

  • upper left Hang-up

  • upper right Media

  • lower left Creme dNude

  • lower right Honeylove

.....Of course all finishes have their own characteristics and uniqueness, which is what I love about MAC lipsticks

Must have! Pink Sugar Perfume

I went to ULTA and was just browsing thru the perfumes when I came across this perfume by Aquolina called Pink Sugar. It smells yummy! I was in a sweet mood that day, but it was a little too expensive for my budget, so I plan on getting it after halloween. I already did the wear-it-all- day-to-capture-the-scent test, and it passed! A few hours in & it still had that lovely sweet scent. It has a sweet aroma of strawberries, cotton candy, with a hint of vanilla and musk...Yummy!

The collection in this scent includes 2 choices of ounce per bottle, solid version, lotion, body mist, deodorant, body mousse, body scrub, hair perfume, and shower gel or mousse.

The She Space pigments

My AboutFace e/s piggies are here!
I waited for these beauties to arrive and I finally got them and I couldn't be more happier. Although these are only samples, I'm seriously thinking about buying them aaaallllll!!!! Samples are 50 cents each, and I think the full 3 grams jars are priced at $4. Not a bad price for these, and the quality is wonderful. Highly pigmented and they stay on no matter what! Of course they have many other colors to choose from, but I just got these for now. Also, their limited Autumn collection is available, so I got to get some of those as well.

"Enjoy!"...
I most certainly will
Pink Collection

This one is called Glossy Moon, beautiful color, and the baggie broke :( So I had to transfer to this little jar

Purple Collection

These are the Blues and Greens

These are the Gold or Earthy tones

And the entire group, I love them all!!!!!
